In order to develop well-rounded adults with a variety of skills and experiences, we require students to participate in enrichment opportunities.
Students will be guided towards specific opportunities depending on individual circumstances, career goals and courses studied. These may include working in a classroom with younger students, offering support in a subject of their choice, guiding students during paired reading sessions and visiting care homes to interact with the elderly and observe the care given.
We recommend that students secure additional opportunities shadowing within the workplace during school holidays and will offer support to secure these placements.
As part of personal development, students will be given additional opportunities to enhance their experience during Sixth Form. Recent examples include HeartStart; a CPR course with the Fire Service and training to become a mental health first aider with NHS nurses.
A range of international visits are available for students studying certain subjects. Examples include a visit to the Hadron Collider for Physics students, a business conference at Disneyland Paris for ICT, Media and Business students and New York for art students. For Geography students there have been a variety of visits previously including Dublin and Italy.
